USB Blog
Found USB! is a segment I like to do that really shows how the gap between USB-savvy people and people who are still using optical media is closing. This time we discover the strangest (and I kinda think coolest) place we've seen a USB port yet....on the side of a building?
German artist and architect, Aram Bartholl, has strategically placed USB ports around New York City waiting to be discovered. His idea is that people will use these "dead drops" as a new peer-to-peer file exchange. Finders can exchange music, art, messages, videos...whatever.
Bizdrive recently shipped out a collection of 1GB "Credit Card" custom USB drives to our customer Becky for her son, Aaron's bar-mitzvah. The custom drives were given out to guests and supporters at Aaron's big day. Becky had this to say about the drives, "The flash drives were a big hit. The older kids thought they were cool too. Thanks again for all your help!"
Today saving money is on everyone’s mind. Second to that are the effects of pollution on the planet and your personal carbon footprint. As a business, it is important to look for new opportunities and ways to reach customers that is both economical and planet friendly. Take for instance the amount of money that a business spends on advertising with catalogs and magazines. This old way of informing customers about your business and the products that you sell can be expensive and creates waste of paper and ink. Not to mention the labor and paying for shipping on large items can get expensive.
Today the schools are moving more toward computer based learning and the World Wide Web to help students gather information. Many schools are focusing on a global curriculum that require students to learn and research other countries and cultures. What can a school do to help foster this new kind of student learning? How can the school or parents also help support the rising cost of education? One way to help the school and the student at the same time is to provide a custom USB flash drive to students.
I love it when one of our customers gets a great idea for a non-traditional use for one of our promotional USB drives. These drives were given out to guests at a bridal shower to remember the day. Taylor bought these cool custom wine-bottle drives for Jenna to celebrate the event. Bizdrive was able to have the drives to her in just 7 business days.
Tonight, I had some friends over at our home. As the night grew late (and one of our friends started murdering songs on Rock Band) two of my wife and I's friends grew bored. So I decided to show them some things I was working on. One of them was an executive at a regional bank and was curious about some of the graphical work that Bizdrive had done for some previous clients. He wanted to take some of the graphics into his marketing department and see if they could use our custom content for their own marketing campaigns. Of course, thinking of expanding my clientele, the files wouldn't be a problem to share.
Another instance of USB technology being placed into common everyday devices. This time it's the Marantz M-CR603 Home Theater Receiver.
Do your homework when buying promotional USB drives
So before we discussed choosing the right promotional product to maximize return and we showed why USB drives make such a great promotional item for that purpose, based off their visibility, functionality, and longevity. Then we talked about how to buy these products to get the best price by dealing with companies that are order getters instead of order takers, looking past page one on a search engine and asking for wholesale partnering.
Now we'll take a look at buying custom USB drives that have a good price/quality balance so that you aren't getting either too expense or too poor quality USB drives.
Last week we discussed how buying the right promotional products can seperate your company from the competition, produce the greatest ROI for your promotion, and lead to sales generation over an extended period of time. We learned that a custom promotional USB drive will produce the best results because of the ability to brand the inside and outside, provide a product that will be widely used in many locations and in front of many potential clients, and last for 10 years of excellent brand display.
Today we are going to look at how to buy these products at the best price to fit your needs.
Who will win the "black box" competition? Five devices (a floppy disk, a memory card, a DVD disc, a external HDD, and a USB flash drive) are put through the runner to see what device is the toughest and secures your data against tests by fire, ice, liquid (coke, vinegar and salt water), pressure (ran over by a Land Rover), and finally fired from a mortar into a wall at point blank range. Only one survives with its memory intact.
So your organization's budget has shrunk and you don't have the funds to pay top dollar anymore for promotional products. Or you are a fresh face in your industry, are building momentum but don't have the capital that your competitors do for promotional items. In either case, you need to increase your organizations brand loyalty in order to increase sales and market share, right?
